A connection between real estate and art has finally been made. Premier Sotheby’s International Realty has recently listed the Museum of Art – DeLand, located on the campus of Stetson University. At a listing price of $5,250,000, the 26,922-square-foot museum is situated on a two-acre lot and provides ample parking with 63 spaces. Included in the sale is the Children’s annex. Located right next door to the museum, the annex was constructed in 1928 and renovated in 2010.
The museum features a 11,700-square-foot theater, which holds 241 seats and a 43-by-24-foot stage. The stage can also be adjusted to be 34-feet deep, accommodating any type of performance. Stetson University leases the theater for performing arts courses and productions. The university challenges its students to think critically and express ideas clearly and creatively to pursue success. That being said, the school makes a commendable effort to engage students in every aspect of their academic and campus life, which in turn allows them to shape the future.
Built in 1991, the three-story museum has undergone some upgrades, including a new roof installed in 2014 and a new HVAC system installed in 2016. Both buildings are zoned for educational purposes, with potential future zoning for mixed commercial uses for the annex.
