One of Naples' most sought after neighborhoods is The Moorings, ideally situated west of U.S. Highway 41, just north of the downtown area. This quiet, tree-shaded community was established from the 1960s to the late 1980s, and many of the homes and condominiums within enjoy waterfront access, on Moorings Bay, Compass Cove or Venetian Bay. It is not uncommon to see some of the earlier homes being purchased essentially for their home site location, and then revitalized with either a complete update or perhaps even an entire new home of a grander scale. The sugar sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and the idyllic beachfront Lowdermilk Park are just a short walk to the west, and in fact, The Moorings is home to some mid-rise condominium homes directly on the beach. Residents here can gather at the private country club or beach park to socialize and enjoy some of the finest Naples living available.
